Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) cash cow IPL has come under scrutiny from the Lodha committee for the discrepancies in salaries, which is reported to have caused heartburn among players.

The Justice R M Lodha committee, which was set up after the fiasco around the IPL spot-fixing and betting scandal, has opened up a lot of untold stories in the Indian Premier League. As per the Hindustan Times report, the imbalance in salaries between players has caused heartburn to players, who are in the national team.

With unknown cricketers bagging a huge pay check in the cash-rich league, cricketers in the national team were reportedly upset about the money being paid to them by the franchises.

The panel also came down hard on the scheduling of the IPL, which cramps up the Indian cricket team’s calendar. The committee put forward the solution of a 15-day gap between the IPL and the national calendar to give adequate rest to the players.
