“The Tokyo Olympics is in 4 years but we can't lose time, hence it's important to speed up the preparation as if it's just 1 year away. Do share your suggestions,” Vijay Goel had written on his Twitter account on Wednesday. This is perhaps the first time the Sports Ministry have opened themselves up to public suggestions, and it did create a lot of engagement on the social media.
Although it is yet to be seen as to how these suggestions are actually implemented, it is a good start none the less, especially after the dismal performance by the nation’s largest-ever Olympic contingent at Rio.
