The BCCI has revealed the results of the 'Dream Team' initiative, which was started to mark India's 500th Test. Fans have voted to pick India's all-time Test XI and based on the votes, MS Dhoni has been selected as the skipper of the side which has Virender Sehwag and Sunil Gavaskar as its openers.

After India bundled out New Zealand in the second innings of the first Test of the series to cruise to a 197-run win, the BCCI has released outcome of  the 'Dream Team' initiative, where the fans were asked to pick India's best Test XI on the occasion of their 500th Test.

Unarguably the best openers of India ever, Virender Sehwag and  the 'Little Master' Sunil Gavaskar have been chosen to open the innings by getting 83% and 68% of votes respectively. Rahul Dravid, who was famous for his solidity at the most crucial No.3 position, has been chosen to bat in his favorite position.

The man who by his mere presence enthralled the connoisseurs and fans world over, Sachin Tendulkar, has been selected as the best No.4 batter by getting 73% of votes. VVS Laxman will follow Sachin at No.5.

The 1983 world cup-winning captain Kapil Dev got 91% of votes to be the lead all-rounder of the team.

MS Dhoni has been selected as the skipper of the side and will also don the role of the wicketkeeper. Ravichandran Ashwin, who marked the 500th Test by taking his 200th wicket in Tests, has beaten Harbhajan Singh and got a place alongside the present coach Anil Kumble.

Javgal Srinath and Zaheer Khan are the two seamers in the side chosen by the fans.

However, the most surprising result was the inclusion of Yuvarj Singh, who has struggled to have any considerable impact in the Test team, as the twelfth man of the side.
