Kohli becomes the first batsman to score four double-centuries in successive Test series

Kohli has carried his impressive form to 2017 and on the return to the whites, slammed yet another double century to extend the horrible day at the office for the Bangladesh team. While his sublime innings assured India of a colossal total, it also ensured Kohli added another feather to his already over-flowing hat.

This is the fourth consecutive series in which the Indian skipper scored a double-century and in the process, Kohli has surpassed legends Sir Don Bradman and Rahul Dravid who had done it in three successive series. The first of Kohli's four double-centuries came against West Indies in July before he followed it up with double tons against New Zealand, England and now Bangladesh. 

Kohli has also joined the elite club of Brian Lara, Don Bradman, Michael Clarke, and Graeme Smith, who had scored four or more two-hundred-plus scores as captain. Lara is the only batsman to score five 200+ scores. 

Kohli also crossed the record of Virender Sehwag in scoring more runs in one home season of Tests. When Kohli was out in the first innings in Hyderabad, he had got to 1168 runs, crossing Sehwag’s 1105 in the 2004-05 season.
