The 2018 edition of IPL is set to be started on 7th April at the Wankhede Stadium with the defending champions MI taking on 2-time champions, CSK. The 45-day tournament is set to end on 27th of May with the final being hosted by Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The venues for the eliminator and the second qualifier are yet to be decided whereas Wankhede will host the first qualifier on 22nd of May.
Rajasthan Royals, who returned after a two-year absence, will face Sunrisers Hyderabad in their first game of the tournament on April 9 before heading to Jaipur where they will host Delhi Daredevils on 11th April.Â
The tournament’s first doubleheader will see DD hosting KXIP at Feroz Shah Kotla at 4 pm and KKR will host RCB at the Eden Gardens 8 pm on April 8.
The KXIP will play three home games against CSK, SRH and DD in Indore on 15th, 19th, and 22nd of April respectively and will play the other four home games at Mohali. They are the only team in this year’s IPL to have two home grounds.
There was no change in the timings of these matches even after there were reports that suggested that the broadcaster had requested for a time change for the broadcast of the matches.
