MS Dhoni enjoys a God stature all across the country and inarguably has a fan following that scores at par with the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, if not more. Thursday’s game between CSK and KKR got a glimpse of it when one fan ran into the CSK dugout to touch Dhoni’s feet with security chasing him.

If there is one team in the Indian Premier League, which enjoys fan following across all the venues of other teams, it is Chennai Super Kings. Since Dhoni took over its captaincy eleven years back, the yellow brigade has gone through many ups and downs but lack of fans hasn’t been one of their concerns.

Eden Gardens on Thursday also had a wave of the yellow army at the stands all turning up to support the side who are topping the IPL table at the moment. The CSK had a good start with Faf du Plessis and then Suresh Raina partnering Shane Watson to help the side reach a solid 97/2 by the 10th over.

The incident happened in the eleventh over when Kuldeep Yadav came on to bowl with Raina and Ambati Rayudu on the crease. Dhoni was seen discussing the proceedings with the management at the dugout when a fan wearing a yellow shirt running at him and touching his feet. Dhoni touched his head, as Indians give blessings before the security came running and dragged him from there.
