On the fourth delivery of the 48th over, Ravindra Jadeja dug a Keemo Paul full ball to silly mid-off and instantly took off for a run. But Roston Chase was alert enough to collect the ball instantly and disturbed the furniture at the non-striker’s end. While Windies player appealed for the wicket, umpire Shaun George was not too keen and didn’t even go upstairs to crosscheck his strong belief.
While Chase was already confused that why the umpire didn’t go upstairs, once the replay was on the big-screen, someone saw that Jadeja was an inch short of completing the single. All Windies players, including Kieron Pollard, were stunned and asked for an explanation from the umpire, and bowing under pressure, George referred to the third umpire.
That, however, irked Harsha Bhogle on air who reacted heavily on the same, calling it unfair considering the Windies had already seen the replay before that. But the third umpire checked the video again, for reasons only known to him, and ruled the Saurashtra batsman out. By then, it was complete chaos in the middle as Virat Kohli, who left his chair in the dressing room and came to the boundary line in displeasure.
Here is how people reacted on Twitter about it!

So lazy from Ravindra Jadeja
Umpires today are clueless but the right decision is made

— Amar Rana (@KingOfStallion)
Jadeja run out. Was there an appeal first time or after the replay was seen on the screen.
— Sankara Subramanian (@rsankaras)
When will you call a ball dead? Jadeja run out is absurd...
— Kaushik Paladugu (@KaushikPaladugu)
Take out the DRS 15 seconds as well if this is the case
Jadeja run out via a direct hit, no one appealed so didn't go to the video umpire; Windies saw replay on big screen and then got referred? Surely that can't be done?
— Len Phillips (@lenphil29)
Jadeja is run-out ! Wonder why the umpire didn't went upstairs
— JATIN (@Kiaras_Jatin)
If there is a record of making most substitute appearance in a career it would go to Ravindra Jadeja.

*Even when not part of playing 11 he ensure atleast a run-out or a catch,if none, saves atleast 25-30 runs through those dynamic dives*
Umpire didn't go upstairs first and after replay seeing I was run out umpire go upstairs after Pollard interferes.
