In what was a great demonstration of law of awareness, Virat Kohli kept his eyes fixed on the bowler’s release point and didn’t leave the crease until the ball was released. The host broadcaster released a video decoding every move of Kohli and Kumar Sangakkara applauded Kohli for his law awareness.

Ever since Ravichandran Ashwin ran Jos Buttler out with the help of Mankad dismissal, a constant fear has been instilled every batsmen's unconscious while standing in the non-striker end as they avoid leaving the crease until the ball is bowled. This was particularly on the show during the IPL but Kohli demonstrated the importance of being there at the crease in a solid fashion.

In a video compilation, Kohli was seen standing inside the non-striker’s crease and instead of looking around, he had his eyes fixed on the bowler and the release point of the ball. He saw the ball and just the moment, the bowler released it, he started backing up and suddenly charged in to complete the run.

Sourav Ganguly and Kumar Sangakkara found it very interesting, with the latter going on to term it as a “lesson for kids”. Sanjay Manjrekar also agreed with the same and added that had this video came out 100 years ago, bowlers wouldn’t have to bear the grudge for doing what is essentially within the laws.

Sangakkara further went on to applaud Kohli’s law awareness and said that it was a brilliant graphic.
