Yuvraj Singh may announce retirement from international cricket today

Yuvraj Singh made a comeback to international cricket in 2017 after a four-year long hiatus. He even struck his career highest 150 during this period but was dropped after a few failed innings. He never made a return to the international arena and even in this year’s Indian Premier League, he only played four matches for Mumbai Indians, scoring 98 runs.

The 2011 World Cup and 2007 T20 World Cup hero has now called for a media interaction at a South Mumbai hotel on Monday. This has further triggered speculations that the southpaw, who has scored 8701 runs in 304 ODIs, may announce his retirement from international cricket and look to pursue a freelance career in ICC approved foreign T20 leagues.

A senior BCCI official, privy to the discussions, also recently told that the 37-year-old is contemplating retirement.

"He would like to speak to the BCCI and get more clarity on plying his trade in tournaments like GT20 (Canada), Euro T20 Slam in Ireland and Holland as he has offers," said the official, reported PTI.
