After drawing curtains to his career, Yuvraj Singh has stated that he would want to be remembered as someone who gave his all for the team. On being asked to pick some of his crucial knocks, the retired cricketer picked his three Test centuries because those came when India were 60-odd for 4.

It was a career befitting one of Indian cricket’s biggest cult heroes and as Yuvraj Singh decided to call it a day, a chapter in Indian cricket came to a close. Always remembered as a team man and the man who would never give up in the face of tough challenges, Yuvraj opened up about his career and how he would like to be remembered by.

“I would like to be remembered as a team man, somebody who gave it all for his team and put the team first. And somebody who was always up for a challenge. Always there to fight till the end and never give up,” Yuvraj told The Hindu.

Although his Test career never lasted long enough, he ended up having three centuries to his name nonetheless - all against Pakistan - and the most important thing of those innings was that it came at a time when India suffered early collapse. The context put those innings at the top of the pile when the southpaw thought about his most memorable innings.

“There have been a lot of crucial knocks. If you look at Test cricket, all three hundreds have come when India were 60-odd for 4. Then me and Sachin (Tendulkar) had that great partnership against England (in Chennai in December 2008). Among the other crucial knocks, the 57 versus Australia in the World Cup quarterfinal was critical in terms of pressure and environment. Also the 70 (off 30 balls) against Australia in the World T20 semifinal (in 2007 in Durban) was extremely satisfying.”
