Jofra Archer created an instant impact after being declared eligible to play for England with a string of impressive performances throughout the World Cup. It was a dream come true for him as he was handed the responsibility of bowling the Super Over against New Zealand. He became a national hero after bowling England to a World Cup win.

"I've seen many videos of kids playing, doing their celebrations in the back garden. I think the World Cup is going to get spoken about for many years to come," Archer was quoted as saying by ToI.

In a country which was once known only for its Test cricket and where football was the main game, Archer was excited to see young children playing cricket and aspiring to grow up and play for England. Archer himself was under scrutiny for being allowed to play for England despite having roots in Barbados. He said that it was important to believe in oneself when no one else does and gave a message to the young cricketers who aspire to play cricket for the national team one day.

"Look at the kids. It's wet and muddy but I don't think they care. It makes us happy to see them playing and wanting to do better. Never give up. If no one believes in you, you have to believe in yourself. You never know where cricket can take you in two weeks, two months or a year... Anything is possible," he further added.

Archer believes that they have got a strong young core that can be a base for England’s success in both red-ball and white-ball cricket for many years to come. He feels that England can build on the momentum they have gained by winning the World Cup and drawing the Ashes series.

"We have started already. Hopefully, we can win back-to-back (World Cups),” he said.

"Who's to say we can't? Everyone is around the same age in the group we have got together. We will be together for a lot more years," he signed off.
