Indian skipper Virat Kohli is set to skip the upcoming Bangladesh T20Is in early November so as to manage his workload, keeping an eye for the future. Kohli had last taken a break in January when he sat out of the final two ODIs against New Zealand and the T20 series that followed.

While the Indian selection committee is set to finalise the team for the Bangladesh T20 series on October 24 - a day after the newly elected members AGM - sources in BCCI confirmed IANS that the Indian skipper would miss the three-game T20I bout. As a matter of fact, Kohli has been playing non-stop cricket since the Australia series at home, and although it was reported that, he would have missed the Windies limited-overs leg, he decided to stay on to boost the morale of the team after the World Cup semi-final loss.

"Yes, he will be skipping the T20 series as he has been playing non-stop and needs a break considering that he has been part of the Australia series, the IPL, the World Cup, the tour of West Indies and now the series against South Africa. Managing the workload of the players, especially those playing all formats, is something that is a priority with this team to ensure that the players are fresh and on the top of their game at all times," the source said, reported IANS.

Kohli took a break from cricket after playing the first three games against New Zealand and came back to represent India in the home series against Australia. Since then, he has played IPL, World Cup, Windies series apart from the ongoing South Africa Test and the already-concluded T2OI series.
