Twitter reacts as Rohit 'gift-man' Sharma reaches his double century in Sehwag style on latter's birthday

Rohit Sharma's Hitman image is one of the reasons as to why he's not considered as a serious Test cricketer. But Sharma translated his LOI brilliance into the longest format by refusing to lose his style and today, he hit a six to get to his maiden 200 as if it was a gift to Sehwag on his birthday.

He was on 199* when Jadeja was on strike and hardly three minutes left for lunch. Virat Kohli, on the JSCA stadium balcony, was beaming with anticipation for Sharma's double hundred when Jadeja hit a four on the penultimate delivery of the final over of the first session. That meant, in all probabilities, Rohit would have to wait till after lunch to reach his first-ever double hundred in Test cricket. On Day 1, Rohit batting on 95* had reached the triple figures with a Sehwag style hundred. And on the former cricketers birthday, Sharma did the honours of repeating that brilliance in his double hundred as well. At 195*, facing Lungi Ngidi, Rohit Sharma executed his favourite pull shot between mid-wicket and deep square leg clearing it to the stands. Virat Kohli and co. stood up in joy and gave a standing ovation to Rohit Sharma, who just keeps getting better each day.
