According to reports, Mitchell Marsh has been ruled out for the entire season of IPL after he sustained a serious injury in the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Courageously, he came out to bat at number 10 in SRH’s chase but it was evident that he was finding it even difficult to stand.

Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh, who was playing his first match for the Hyderabad based franchise, is reportedly likely to be out of the remainder of the IPL as the ankle injury he suffered during the game against RCB is believed to be a serious one.

Bowling first, Marsh was handed the ball by skipper David Warner to bowl the fifth over but he got injured only after the second ball and could bowl only four deliveries in total, before being taken out of the ground. Marsh, whose career has been marred by a series of injuries, twisted his ankle in the second ball while trying to stop a drive by Aaron Finch in his follow-through.

He hobbled to bowl two balls after getting injured but the pain of the injury was too much for him to handle and thus had to leave the field. Later, despite struggling to stand, he courageously came out to bat at number 10 in SRH’s chase. However, it couldn’t be of any use as SRH lost the game by 10 runs.

“It seems a serious injury. I am not sure if he will be able to compete in any of the matches,” a team source told PTI.

There still hasn’t been an official announcement on the same, however. Should Marsh be ruled out, though, it will be a huge loss for SRH, who might opt for the services of world number one T20 all-rounder Mohammed Nabi, who starred in the recently concluded CPL, as the Australian's replacement. SRH skipper Warner had praised fellow Australian for coming out to bat despite being in pain.

”It doesn’t look great. A lot of courage from him to walk out there and try his best, but it was unfortunate tonight. Obviously, what you saw out there, it was quite painful, he can’t put any weight on it,” Warner told Star Sports.
