Pat Cummins takes time off ahead of crucial Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25

In an interview with Fox Sports, the 31-year-old said, “ “Everyone that comes back after a break is a little bit fresher, you never regret it.” He further added, “ I’ve been bowling non-stop since the World Test Championship final, nearly 18 months ago. This gives me a good seven or eight weeks completely off bowling so the body can recover, and then you start building up again for the summer.”

Cummins has been navigating a demanding cricket schedule since recovering from a wrist fracture during the Ashes series. His non-stop workload has included leading Australia to victory in the ODI World Cup, playing in Test series against Pakistan, West Indies, and New Zealand, and representing Australia in the T20 World Cup and the Indian Premier League. After his stint in Major League Cricket in the United States, Cummins has chosen to prioritize his well-being by taking an eight-week break.

The eagerly awaited India-Australia Test series will begin on November 22 at the Optus Stadium in Perth. The five-match series will then move to Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney, setting the stage for an exciting showdown between the two cricketing giants.
