Starting the day at 164/5, India were conservative to begin with the World Test Championship spot on the line. Pant, though, continued to play his brand of cricket that has made him a great player, particularly in Australia. At a comfortable 33-ball 26, Pant looked like he was destined for a big score but his erratic style came back into play.
The 56th over saw a battle between Scott Boland and the Indian Gloveman where the former eventually won the battle of wits. On the third ball of the over, Pant pulled out of the shot just as Boland was about to deliver the ball. Pant explained the issue to the umpire and apologized to the Aussie who did not look too pleased. With the ball re-bowled, Pant tried to go for his trademark hoof over fine leg but missed the ball altogether and got caught in the gut.
After Pant picked himself back off the canvas, Boland decided to go around the wicket and target the stumps. This time he went fuller on the stumps and Pant tried to repeat his shot while falling over. This time he did hit the ball but did not make the contact he wanted as the ball ballooned over the slips and landed into the hands of Nathan Lyon.
The Twitterati were not too pleased with Pant’s “antics” and were quick to vent on the dismissal.
Pant Gone!

Sympathy
Rishabh Pant plays in the team because of chamchagiri, sympathy quota and old heroics.
— Nirmal Jyothi (@majornirmal)
He is not technically sound, and the earlier India gets rid of him better it will be.
Getting exposed day after day.
This is the shot he tried to play before his dismissal.
Risk it
Rishabh Pant started taking risk and fell to Boland, failing to deliver once again. His inconsistency leaves India without vital middle-order support in the BGT..a costly miss at a crucial moment, putting India in deep trouble.

Stupid shot
Sunil Gavaskar Said “This is a stupid shot, Rishabh Pant should not be going into that (India’s) dressing room - he should be going into the other dressing room!”

Dismissed
Sunil Gavaskar about Rishabh Pant dismissal. 👇

Dear Gavaskar Pant is a cricketer with minimum skills and maximum PR.
People like you hyped him to sky level. But he never deserved that hype. I will call his PR team as stupid.
