A cricket field often plays center stage in a battle of bat and ball between two teams. However, the fifth game of IPL 2024 between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans saw a different clash where the Ahmedabad audience lashed out at Hardik Pandya and yelled at him with disgraceful remarks.

The transfer of Hardik Pandya from Gujarat Titans to Mumbai Indians as the latter’s captain triggered the divided the fans over player’s loyalty concerns. As expected things went worse during their first game when the two teams squared off for the Western Derby with Gujarat’s former captain as the current MI skipper. While the audience was engaged in booing the Indian all-rounder, they crossed all the threshold when a mass targeted Hardik with hostile jibes.

Among many videos circulating on the internet on Sunday’s GT-MI game, one of the footage showed a group of people backlashing at Hardik with the term ‘c**pri’ when the 30-year-old was strolling back to the pavilion amidst the contest. While the MI captain seemed unbothered by any of the hostile remarks made at him, the fans seemed merciless and spontaneously kept squealing, leaving the Twitterverse into a frenzy.
