Age doesn’t matter for some, and Jos Buttler proved that while wicketkeeping for the Gujarat Titans. The Englishman was at his best in the game against Delhi Capitals at Ahmedabad, where he showcased his incredible agility and took a breathtaking catch to dismiss Delhi’s Vipraj Nigam

‌Delhi Capitals had a shaky start with Abishek Porel and KL Rahul getting dismissed in the powerplay. However, Karun Nair and KL Rahul steadied the innings, taking the score to 52/1 in four overs. Just as Rahul was settling in, Prasidh Krishna removed him in the fifth over. The pressure continued as Krishna struck again, dismissing the in-form Karun Nair in the ninth over. With Tristan Stubbs and Axar Patel at the crease, Delhi reached 105/3 at the halfway stage.

But it was Prasidh Krishna who turned the game on its head with a four-wicket haul, as Delhi looked comfortable at 173/4 by the 17th over. In the 18th over, Axar Patel was dismissed, and in the same over, Vipraj Nigam was also sent back, thanks to a stunning catch by Jos Buttler.

On the second ball of the 18th over, Prasidh bowled a length delivery angling into the batter’s body. It cramped Vipraj for room as he backed away and tried to guide it to third man. The ball caught the splice and flew to the right of Buttler, who was initially wrong-footed but reacted quickly. He dived full stretch to his right and pulled off a brilliant one-handed catch. Krishna was left stunned and rushed to hug Buttler in celebration. The Twitterverse too was amazed by the catch and quickly lit up social media with praise for the Englishman.

WOW! What a catch!

Brilliant catch!

Great from Buttler!
