ENG vs IND | Twitter ecstatic as Siraj goes berserk with bowling and reactions to destroy English tail

Cricket is not a fair sport, for what kind of game pits a bowler on top of his game bowling 85 mph missiles with a shiny red cherry against men barely able to hold a bat? Mohammed Siraj wasn't one to complain though at Edgbaston on Friday, as he had a jolly good time going through England's tail.

England strung together a stunning comeback after being reduced to 84/5 early on Day 3, eventually ending up just 180 runs short of India's 587. Both Harry Brook and Jamie Smith scored 150-plus in a sixth-wicket partnership worth 303 runs. While the duo were batting, the hosts seemed set to end up at par with India and even after Akash Deep got rid of Brook, the belligerent Smith and his threat still remained. However, a brilliant spell from Mohammed Siraj nipped all Englsh hopes of bridging the gap with their opponents in the bud, the pacer eventually ending up with a six-fer and an even more impressive portfolio of reactions.

Having begun the day by scalping Joe Root and Ben Stokes on back-to-back deliveries, Siraj's second death streak of the day kickstarted in the 88th over against Brydon Carse. The right-arm quick aimed for the stumps and nailed his execution with an inseamer, beating Carse's inside edge to hit his pad in front of the stumps. The umpire showed no hesitation in raising his finger but Carse instantly opted for a DRS, raising doubt in Indian minds. However, as soon as the big screen revealed the review had been unsuccessful, Siraj burst into an eardrum-bursting scream, even taking his teammates by surprise. On the first ball of his very next over, Siraj then trapped Josh Tongue plumb with a full delivery and immediately wheeled away in celebration having taken his first five-wicket haul in India. A sharp bumper to Shaoib Bashir's head followed and once the concussion checks were complete, Siraj made an even bigger fool of the tailender with an inducker that snuck in under shouldered arms and thundered into the stumps.

Twitterati could not be more impressed.
