The outstanding batting and bowling performances of skipper Faf du Plessis and star pacer Adam Milne propelled the Texas Super Kings to a comfortable and big win against Seattle Orcas in the tournament’s 28th match in Lauderhill. This win also took the Super Kings to the top of the standings.

Texas Super Kings were asked to bat first by SEO’s toss-winning skipper Sikandar Raza; batting first, TSK posted a big total of 188/4 in the allotted 20 overs. The veteran opener and skipper, Faf du Plessis, smashed a blistering and match-winning knock of 91 runs off just 52 balls, with six fours and four sixes. Furthermore, middle-order batter Shubham Ranjane also scored 65 runs off 41 balls, with four fours and three sixes.

Jasdeep Singh and Cameron Green were the only wicket-takers with a wicket each for Seattle Orcas in the first innings. The other bowlers went on to be quite expensive with their ‘not-so-impressive’ economy rates.

While chasing the target, the SEO batters looked completely clueless against the bowling attack of the Texas Super Kings, led by the star pacer Adam Milne. Kyle Mayers was the only SEO batter to cross the individual mark of 30+ runs, scoring 35 runs off 28 balls, with four fours and a six. TSK’s Adam Milne claimed a sensational five-wicket haul, scalping 5 wickets at just 23 runs in his 3.4 overs. Besides him, Nor Ahmad and Akeal Hosein also picked a wicket each, alongside a wicket bagged by all-rounder Marcus Stoinis.

On the back of these bowling performances, TSK bundled out the SEO at the score of just 137 runs in 18.4 overs. Skipper Faf du Plessis won the ‘Player of the Match’ award for his impressive and outstanding knock. TSK have also strengthened their position in the tournament’s points table ahead of the playoff stage.
