The Global Super League has reached the halfway stage of the tournament with Guyana Amazon Warriors and Dubai Capitals slated to take each other on in the penultimate match of the round-robin stage. Both teams have already suffered a defeat each in the tournament and another loss could potentially end either team's chances of making it to the summit clash, practically making their clash a must-win encounter.
The Capitals have so far failed to fire as a collective unit, with their only win basically a one man effort as Shakib Al Hasan scored 58 and took four scalps to thwart the Central Stags. The batting unit features no established international name in its top six albeit the depth of their spin department does make for glorious reading.
Guyana, on the other hand, continue to be led by the ageless Imran Tahir who scalped a match-winning 4/23 in their latest encounter against the Stags. Their loss by eight runs in the opener against Rangpur can be put down to a atypical middle-order collapse and should the team get their basics right, they will be the clear favourites against the Capitals.
Form Guide
After beginning the tournament with a narrow nine-run loss to Ranpur Riders, CPL runners-up Guyana Amazon Warriors struck back in style with a 66-run demolition of Central Stags after setting them 159 to chase.
The Dubai Capitals, on the other hand, started strongly by defeating the Stags by a comfortable 22-runs. However, they were no match to Hobart Hurricanes in their latest encounter, who chased down a target of 142 with seven wickets and three overs to spare.

GAW vs DC Head-to-Head
This will be the first ever ecounter between Guyana Amazon Warriors and Dubai Capitals because they operate in different franchise leagues -- the Caribbean Premier League and the International League T20 respectively.

Pitch and Weather
The pitch in Guyana has been its typical slow self through the four games in the tournament so far, with an average first innings score of 157 and a highest of 165, struck by the Capitals in the tournament opener. As the decks are used more and experience further wear and tear, expect the spinners to come into play in an even bigger way and the scoring rates to dwindle any further. Similarly, the captain winning the toss on Monday is likely to opt to set a target, given only chase has been successful so far in GSL 2025.
The weather is expected to remain clear for the majority of the encounter with clouds intermittently making an appearance albeit with little to no threat of rain. The humidity levels might end up touching 90%, with the temperature forecast to hover in the mid-20 degrees Centigrade.
Team News
Dubai Capitals had made three changes to their lineup against Hobart Hurricanes despite winning the tournament opener against Central Stags, and ironically ended up on the losing side. However, with the likes of Rohan Mustaga and Qais Ahmad in the lineup, the Capitals are likely to field the same XI against Guyana.
Guyana Amazon Warriors, meanwhile, have played the same team in both their encounters so far and are unlikely to tamper with the combination following a huge win in their latest fixture against the Central Stags.
