The owners of Mumbai Indians have always been passionate about cricket taking pride in the performance of their team and showing remorse whenever the players did not perform up to the mark. Nita Ambani was heartbroken when Trent Boult dropped a sitter during the PBKS vs MI Qualifier 2 in Ahmedabad.

‌Mumbai Indians put 203/6 on the board after batting first against Punjab Kings in the second Qualifier of IPL 2025 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad with valuable contributions from Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma and Naman Dhir. It was then left to their bowlers to defend the target for their seventh appearance in the summit clash in the history of the tournament.

They started off on a bright note as Trent Boult dismissed in-form opener Prabhsimran Singh in the third over. With Priyansh Arya and Josh Inglis also departing after entertaining cameos, PBKS were under the cosh at 72/3 within the eighth over.

With two new batters at the crease, Mi captain Hardik Pandya came on for his second over getting hit for a six and four in his first five balls. The medium pacer bowled the slower bouncer to induce a false shot from left-handed Nehal Wadhera. As his miscued pull was reaching Trent Boult, who was stationed at deep fine leg, Pandya was convinced he got his man.

But to his horror Boult dropped the catch and also conceded the boundary as the MI skipper was both shocked and disappointed, evident from his shake of the head, with the Kiwi pacer’s effort.

The MI owners, who were also watching the proceedings from the ground, were also not impressed with Boult’s drop as Nita Ambani was tense and rubbed her head in agony. Twitter was heartbroken as they echoed her sentiments with the usually safe Boult putting down an easy catch during a crucial phase of the game.
