Royal Challengers Bengaluru's trophy drought ended at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Tuesday as they lifted the Indian Premier League trophy for the first time in 18 years. Setting 190 to chase, the franchise bowled brilliantly through the middle overs, led by Krunal Pandya's 2/17 to seal the deal.

‌Put in to bat on a belter, Royal Challengers Bengaluru started brightly with Phil Salt hammering a six and four in the opening over. However, Kyle Jamieson dismissed him for 16, and a steady 38-run stand between Virat Kohli and Mayank Agarwal followed before Chahal removed the latter. Rajat Patidar injected momentum with a brisk 26 off 16, but his dismissal triggered a slowdown. Kohli, anchoring the innings, eventually fell for 43 (35), leaving RCB 132/4 after 15 overs. Jitesh Sharma then launched a stunning assault with two fours off Arshdeep and two sixes off Jamieson in a 23-run over. His cameo, along with Livingstone’s 25 from 15, powered RCB to 190 despite a tight finish from PBKS.
In reply, Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh started confidently, but Josh Hazlewood’s introduction pegged things back. He removed Priyansh and dried up runs, as Krunal Pandya and Romario Shepherd picked up crucial wickets. Inglis tried to counter but fell for 39 to a boundary catch. With pressure mounting, Bhuvneshwar’s double strike killed the chase. Though Shashank Singh fought valiantly with a 29-ball fifty in a final over flourish, the game was long gone. RCB sealed a memorable win, Kohli overcome with emotion as his team celebrated.
