SCO vs NED T20 Tri-Series Preview | Scotland bid to recover from shock Nepal loss with double over Netherlands

Scotland will meet the Netherlands in the fourth match of the T20I Tri-Series at Titwood in Glasgow on Wednesday. It will be the second meeting between both sides in the tournament with the host notching up a comfortable 39-run win over the Dutch in the first match at the same venue on Sunday.

‌Host Scotland will hope to recover from the shock loss to Nepal when they turn up against the Netherlands in the fourth match of the T20 Tri-Series 2025 at Titwood in Glasgow on Wednesday. Despite the home side’s loss on Tuesday, they continue to be on top of the points table with two points from a win and a loss in two matches and ahead of the other two sides with a higher Net Run Rate.

After starting the series with a convincing 39-run win over the Netherlands, Scotland came crashing down as Nepal handed them a two-wicket defeat in a low-scoring thriller at the same venue. However, Scotland could take heart from the batting performance of Michael Leask who scored a run-a-ball 46 in trying batting conditions and also their disciplined bowling effort which saw them take the match to the penultimate ball despite the target being only 98.

Leask has impressed with his all-round abilities top-scoring in the tournament with 53 runs from two matches apart from picking three wickets while medium-pacer Safyaan Sharif is their top wicket-taker with four scalps from two games.

Meanwhile, the Netherlands will be on a high after winning a thrilling contest against Nepal in the third iteration of the super over on Monday. There was nothing to separate both teams after the regulation 20 overs with both sides matching each other in the first two super over episodes as well with the Orange Army getting their first points on board in the third attempt.

That would have been a shot in the arm for them after losing the series opener to the hosts in an underwhelming performance. With the winner of the contest going to the top of the table, the Netherlands will be eager to deny Scotland from completing the emphatic double over them.

The spin bowling trio of Daniel Doram, Aryan Dutt and Zach Lion-Cachet along with medium pacer Kyle Klein jointly top the wicket charts for the Netherlands with three wickets while Michael Levitt and Teja Nidamanuru have accumulated 56 and 51 runs, respectively for them. The visitors will try to make amends for their poor batting show against the hosts in the first game when only two batters crossed the 20-run mark folding out for 121  in a run chase of 161.
