LSG vs RCB | Rishabh Pant turns Spiderman with somersault celebration after scoring century

Rishabh Pant, the gymnast, is not new to us as he has given a glimpse of his acrobatic skills time and again on the cricket field. That was on display yet again during the LSG vs RCB game in Lucknow as he removed his helmet and gloves to do a somersault to celebrate his century amidst cheering fans.

‌With nothing to lose in the Indian Premier League 2025 season, Lucknow Super Giants came up with a positive start after being put into bat by Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on Tuesday. Skipper Rishabh Pant also displayed intent straight away as he came in at number three, ahead of Nicholas Pooran, and plundered 18 runs off Yash Dayal’s first over.

With LSG reaching 55/1 after the powerplay, Pant and opener Mitchell Marsh were looking in good nick to go big and take the side to a tall total. The pair did just that as LSG got to 100 at the end of the 10th over with Pant bringing up his second fifty of the season in 29 balls.

The wicketkeeper-batter looked in great nick, as opposed to the other matches this season, as he smashed boundaries all over the park. His trademark one-handed slog, the powerful pull shot and slogs down the ground were all on display as he dominated the 152-run partnership with the Australian.

Even Marsh’s dismissal did not stop Pant as the southpaw smashed two fours in Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s last over, the second one bringing up his first century this season with Pant moving from 50 to 100 in just 25 balls.

Pant was excited as he brought the three-figure mark removing his helmet and gloves and asking non-striker Pooran to wait to perform his trademark flip.

Twitter loved it as Pant opened his hands after completing his somersault and soaked in all the adulation from the cheering home fans.
