Harry Kane expressed disappointment after Bayern Munich lost 2-0 to PSG in the Club World Cup quarter-finals, with his midfield error leading to the opening goal. Kane had a goal ruled out for offside and later supported Jamal Musiala, who suffered a broken ankle. Bayern now prepare for friendlies and the Super Cup on August 16.
As the FIFA Club World Cup dream ended for Bayern Munich, Harry Kane expressed deep disappointment over the team’s 2-0 quarter-final defeat to Paris Saint-Germain. The England striker admitted feeling “gutted” after Bayern were eliminated in the United States, with Kane’s midfield turnover directly leading to PSG’s opening goal from Desire Doue.
Despite Bayern’s efforts, Kane also had a goal ruled out for offside, and PSG, even after being reduced to nine men, sealed the win in stoppage time through substitute Ousmane Dembele. The loss ends Bayern’s hopes of adding another international title to their cabinet after Kane had helped them clinch the Bundesliga crown in the 2024–25 season, ending his long-standing trophy drought.
Adding to Bayern’s woes, rising star Jamal Musiala suffered a serious ankle break following a challenge with PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. Kane took to Instagram to offer support to his teammate, writing, “We’re with you every step of the way.” Looking ahead, Bayern will play a series of friendlies, including one against Kane’s former club Tottenham, before kicking off their 2025-26 campaign with a Super Cup clash against Stuttgart on August 16. Musiala is expected to be sidelined for several months.
