Manchester United’s £55 million bid for Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo has been rejected, with the club holding out for over £60 million. Spurs have now entered the race, with Thomas Frank interested in reuniting with the player. Mbeumo, who scored 20 goals and provided 8 assists last season, prefers a move to United.

For the summer 2025 transfer window, Manchester United have intensified their pursuit of Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo following the signing of Matheus Cunha from Wolves. Under new manager Ruben Amorim, who replaced Erik ten Hag, United aim to revamp the squad after finishing a disappointing 15th in the Premier League. Mbeumo is high on their radar, with reports confirming that the club has already submitted a bid worth £55 million (£45 million plus £10 million in add-ons), which Brentford rejected, holding out for over £60 million.

Adding a twist, Tottenham Hotspur have also entered the race, with their managerial target Thomas Frank—currently Brentford's boss—allegedly interested in bringing Mbeumo along to north London. Despite rival interest, Mbeumo is said to prefer a move to Old Trafford, where United staff believe he fits well in Amorim’s tactical setup.

The 25-year-old enjoyed an excellent 2024–25 campaign, scoring 20 goals and delivering 8 assists in all competitions. His versatility, especially as a right winger, makes him an attractive option for United. Talks remain ongoing, and United are determined to complete the deal before the transfer window closes, as they continue building a competitive squad under their new regime.
