Gonzalo Garcia has impressed at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, scoring two goals in Kylian Mbappe’s absence. Former youth coach Hernan Perez believes the 21-year-old has the potential to lead Real Madrid’s attack for the next 10 to 12 years and could match the impact of Erling Haaland if given regular game time.

For the team that thrives on producing global stars, Real Madrid may have found their next big name in Gonzalo Garcia. The 21-year-old striker, who had only five senior appearances across two seasons, has now grabbed headlines during the FIFA Club World Cup. With Kylian Mbappe ruled out due to illness, Garcia was handed a rare start by Xabi Alonso and responded with two goals, emerging as a breakout star for Los Blancos in the United States.

Hernan Perez, Spain's U17 coach and Garcia’s former mentor at Real Madrid’s academy, believes the youngster has the potential to become a home-grown Galactico. Perez confidently stated that Garcia could lead Real’s attack for the next decade if given regular chances and he also compared Garcia's growth potential to that of Erling Haaland, stressing that confidence and consistent game time are key to unlocking his full capabilities.

Despite limited first-team minutes, Perez is against loaning him out, citing Barcelona’s success with young players. He believes that if Garcia is trusted with 50 games, he could score 50 goals. With Real Madrid set to face Juventus next, and Mbappe possibly returning, Garcia’s recent performances might just force Alonso to rethink his attacking setup. The future looks bright for this promising talent.
