Liverpool is close to clinching their 20th English top-flight title with a 12-point lead and nine games left. However, recent exits from the League Cup and Champions League, along with contract uncertainties around Salah, Van Dijk, and Alexander-Arnold, raise concerns. Liverpool has won five of their last ten matches, with Salah struggling for goals.

With the Premier League title within reach, Liverpool faces an uncertain future after a difficult week that saw them eliminated from two competitions. Arne Slot's side lost the League Cup final to Newcastle, who secured their first domestic trophy in 70 years, and were also knocked out of the Champions League by Paris Saint-Germain.

Despite these setbacks, Liverpool holds a commanding 12-point lead in the Premier League with just nine games remaining. Needing only 16 more points to secure the title, even if Arsenal wins all their remaining matches, Liverpool is on the verge of equaling Manchester United’s record of 20 English top-flight titles.

However, cracks have appeared in recent performances, with five wins, two draws, and three losses in their last 10 games across competitions. Mohamed Salah’s form has dipped, scoring just once in his last five appearances. Contract uncertainties add to the tension, as Salah, Virgil van Dijk, and Trent Alexander-Arnold all have deals expiring this season.

Van Dijk admitted uncertainty over his future, while Salah is linked to Saudi Arabia and Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid. With key players aging—Van Dijk is 33, Salah and Alisson 32—Liverpool appears to be nearing the end of a cycle, posing challenges for Slot in the seasons ahead.
