Chelsea beat Liverpool 3-1, boosting their Champions League hopes and moving to 5th place in the Premier League. Meanwhile, Manchester United's poor form continued with a 4-3 loss at Brentford, extending their winless run to six games and Tottenham also struggled, drawing 1-1 at West Ham, leaving them in 16th place with only one win in their last nine matches.

After being the newly-crowned Premier League champions, Liverpool suffered a setback with a 3-1 loss to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and the defeat was their third of the season, despite Virgil van Dijk's goal for Liverpool. Enzo Fernandez opened the scoring for Chelsea, followed by an own goal from Jarell Quansah. Cole Palmer sealed Chelsea's victory with a stoppage-time penalty, boosting their hopes for a Champions League spot.

Chelsea is now in fifth place, level on points with fourth-placed Newcastle, who drew 1-1 against Brighton. Meanwhile, Manchester United's struggles continued as they were defeated 4-3 by Brentford, extending their winless run to six games. Despite Mason Mount's early goal, United conceded through an own goal and headers from Kevin Schade and Yoane Wissa, the latter scoring his 18th goal of the season.

United managed late consolation goals from Garnacho and Amad Diallo, but the loss dropped them to 15th in the standings. Tottenham also struggled, managing a 1-1 draw at West Ham, with both teams underperforming in recent matches. In contrast, Brighton earned a 1-1 draw with Newcastle, with Alexander Isak scoring a late penalty to secure a point for the visitors.
