Barcelona sporting director Deco confirmed the club’s interest in Marcus Rashford and Luis Diaz. However, Barca’s top priority remains renewing key players like Pedri, Gavi, and Lamine Yamal.

In the latest transfer buzz, Barcelona sporting director Deco has confirmed the club’s interest in Manchester United's Marcus Rashford and Liverpool's Luis Diaz. Rashford, who recently completed a loan spell at Aston Villa, is reportedly available for around £40 million. Diaz, meanwhile, still has two years remaining on his Liverpool contract, and there’s no indication the Merseyside club is willing to sell.

Speaking to Catalan radio station RAC1, Deco acknowledged the admiration for both players but emphasized that Barcelona’s primary focus lies in securing contract renewals for key squad members such as Pedri, Gavi, Ronald Araujo, Jules Kounde, Raphinha, and Lamine Yamal. Deco highlighted Yamal’s renewal as potentially “the best signing in history.”

Barcelona’s summer plans appear to revolve around maintaining squad continuity, though Deco admitted that signing a winger with a different profile could help bolster the attack. Internal options like Fermin Lopez have been tested, but squad additions will depend on market opportunities. Despite Hansi Flick’s contract extension following a La Liga title win, Barcelona remains strategic about player acquisitions amid financial caution. Whether the Catalan giants will move for Rashford or Diaz may depend on departures and budget flexibility in the coming weeks.
