Saurabh, who is only 16-year-old, won the event with a new games record of 240.7 in the 10m air pistol event. Japanese shooter Tomoyuki Matsuda finished second with a score of 239.7 while the other Indian Abhishek Verma ended up with 219.3.
Matsuda was leading the chart most of the time in the final round while Abhishek was not in even in the top three. Both the Indians showed great composure at the end and won medals.
Saurabh scored a total of 101.4 in the first stage with scores of 50.6 and 50.8 in both series while in the second round he scored 18.6, 19.4, 20, 20.6, 20.2, 19.9 and 20.6 to finish at the top. 29-year-old Abhishek, on the other hand, scored 50.4 and 48.9 in the first round and 20,20, 21.4, 18.1, 20.8 and 19.6 in the second which helped him finish at the third position ahead of China's Wu Jiyayu.
Matsuda in the final round managed to score 18.7, 19.9, 19.6, 19.4, 20.4, 19.2 and 19.2 and missed out on a gold.
Saurabh came to limelight earlier this year when he clinched three gold medals at the 2018 Junior World Cup in Suhl, Germany.
With this win, India has now moved to the seventh position in the medal's tally. At the Asian Games 2018, India now has three Gold, 2 Silver and Bronze medals each.
