ICC chief Shashank Manohar has claimed that the security of any team would be ICC's first priority. This statement has come following the concerns raised by the Board of Control for Cricket in India(BCCI) regarding the safety of players and match officials in the upcoming Cricket World Cup.

International Cricket Council’s (ICC) chairman Shashank Manohar has assured the BCCI that the security of the Indian team, or any team participating in the World Cup in England this summer, would be the governing body's "top priority." He also stated that BCCI would get a prior idea of the security being provided to the teams at the ICC Board meeting in Dubai on March 2.

"I have received the BCCI's letter. Security has, and always will be, the top priority of the ICC. When the ICC (board members) meet in Dubai on March 2, we will show the BCCI all the security plans which have been put in place for the World Cup. They can satisfy themselves over the arrangements for the World Cup. Every board is entitled to do that," Manohar told TOI.

Manohar has also revealed that he would be placing BCCI's letter to the ICC in the meeting of the member boards.

"As far as the other issues are concerned, I will place BCCI's letter and the concerns expressed therein, before the ICC Board."he said.

Meanwhile, The BCCI's letter has been addressed to Manohar, ICC CEO Dave Richardson & Colin Graves, the chairman of the England and Wales Cricket Board. And once it would get placed in the ICC meeting by Manohar, it would be up to the members to discuss it and take a call.

The meeting of ICC's chief executives and members will be held in Dubai on March 27, but members are set to appraised of the security measures by 2nd March.
