Central Districts’ bowling trio of Angus Schaw, Jayden Lennox, and Blair Tickner proved to be a lethal combination that destroyed the batting attack of the Rangpur Riders for 79 all-out before rain affected the game. The ‘no result’ propelled Rangpur Riders to the top of the table in GSL 2025.

The Riders’ skipper, Nurul Hasan, won the toss and asked his batters to take the charge, a decision that backfired spectacularly. Saif Hassan and Mahidul Islam Ankon were the only two batters to cross the individual mark of 20 runs, hitting 25 each. All other batters except for these two were dismissed for single-digit scores, and the team eventually bundled out at the score of 79 runs in just 13.5 overs.

Jayden Lennox ended up as the most economical bowler for his side, conceding only 6 runs in 2.5 overs and claiming a three-fer. Angus Schaw and Blair Tickner also accompanied him, bagging three wickets each. Toby Findlay also made it to the scorecard as he dismissed Harmeet Singh in the 13th over.

Before the Central Districts could put in their efforts for an easy run chase, the rain ruined their plans of a positive finish to the tournament having already been knocked out of the running for the final. The end of the game without any result added a point to Rangpur Riders' tally, who thus finished as the table toppers, with three wins in their four games.

The Riders will now take on hosts Guyana Amazon Warriors in the tournament’s summit clash on July 18, at the Providence Stadium in Guyana.
