GAW vs RAR Preview । Rangpur Riders aim to go back-to-back against hosts Guyana Amazon Warriors in GSL final

Rangpur Riders will be making their second consecutive appearance in a Global Super League final, after clinching the title last year with a 58-run win over Victoria in the GSL 2024 final. They will aim to successfully execute their title defence with a win against Guyana Amazon Warriors.
After escaping defeat in a rain-affected last league match against Central Districts, Rangpur Riders will take on Guyana Amazon Warriors in the tournament’s summit clash on July 18. Guyana’s Providence Stadium will host this game on July 18. The Riders have been undefeated in the tournament so far, with three wins in their four league matches, including the ‘no result’ game against the Districts.
On the other hand, the Warriors finished second at the end of the league stage, with three wins and a defeat in their four games in the tournament. In their last league game, Imran Tahir’s men defeated the Hobart Hurricanes by 4 wickets to secure a spot in the final. They will be eyeing their first ever GSL title.

GAW vs RAR Head-to-Head in T20S
Guyana Amazon Warriors and Rangpur Riders have locked horns with each other in the Global Super League on two occasions. The Riders have emerged victorious in both games by close margins of 15 and 8 runs, respectively.
GAW 2-0 RR
Pitch and Weather
Providence Stadium’s pitch has a balanced nature, with a bit of extra support for the batters in the first innings. The team batting first has won seven out of the nine games played here in the ongoing GSL 2025. So, batting first at this surface would be a wise move by the toss-winning skipper.
The weather will be quite clear throughout the game, with slight humidity. The minimum temperature at the start of the game will be 24 degrees Celsius but the temperature will increase gradually upto 29 degrees Celsius, resulting in a rise in humidity as the game progresses to the second innings.
Team News
Guyana Amazon Warriors might opt to go ahead with the smae winning combination which has won games for them in the last three fixtures. There are very few chances of GAW making any change in their playing XI for the final against Rangpur Riders.
Speaking of the Rangpur Riders, they might opt to make a few changes in their batting lineup after a horrific collapse in the last league fixture against the Central Districts. Khawaja Nafay might make it to the XI, replacing Soumya Sarkar, who failed miserably (golden duck) in the last game.
