When things don’t go your way, having supportive teammates who lift you after a setback can make all the difference. A heartwarming moment unfolded at Eden Gardens, where Kolkata took on Rajasthan, as Shimron Hetmyer was seen consoling Yudhvir Singh for his commendable effort on the boundary.

‌Kolkata Knight Riders faced Rajasthan Royals at Eden Gardens, where KKR skipper Ajinkya Rahane won the toss and chose to bat first. The opening pair, Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Sunil Narine, had a shaky start as Narine was dismissed early by Yudhvir Singh. Gurbaz and Rahane steadied the innings, guiding KKR to 56/1 by the end of the powerplay, before Gurbaz fell to Maheesh Theekshana for 35 runs. Rahane and Angkrish Raghuvanshi continued the momentum with regular boundaries, leading to a touching moment on the field.

On the fifth ball of the 10th over, Wanindu Hasaranga bowled a full, tossed-up delivery at 83.7 km/h. Radhuvanshi got down on one knee and swept it to the left of deep backward square leg. Yudhvir sprinted across and put in a full-length dive but couldn’t quite flick the ball back into play, instead deflecting it to the boundary. In a touching gesture, Shimron Hetmyer gently patted Yudhvir on the head, acknowledging his effort. The moment didn’t go unnoticed, as fans on Twitter praised Hetmyer for his thoughtful act toward the young cricketer.
