Yashasvi Jaiswal intends to continue playing for Mumbai in domestic cricket

Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has written to the Mumbai Cricket Association requesting to continue representing them in the domestic circuit. The left-handed batter had, in the last month, reached out to the MCA asking for a no-objection certificate (NOC) to join Goa from the 2025-26 season.
MCA, which had given an NOC to Jaiswal, confirmed receiving another letter from the Indian opener reverting his earlier request.
"He has written a letter to us, but we are in no hurry to take a decision on this because there is time for the next domestic season," MCA secretary Abhay Hadap was quoted as saying to ESPNcricinfo. "He has said he has not submitted that NOC either with the BCCI or Goa [Cricket Association] yet."
The left-handed batter had an exceptional 2020 U19 World Cup finishing as the top-scorer with 400 runs from six matches, including a hundred and four fifties, at an average of 133.33. That allowed him to be a regular starter for Mumbai in the domestic circuit after making his first-class debut with them in the 2018-19 season.
Jaiswal came into national reckoning with a double century in the first innings and a century in the second of the Irani Trophy 2023 where he headlined Rest of India’s massive 238-run win over Madhya Pradesh. He had a memorable debut with the Indian cricket team too scoring a match-winning century against West Indies in July 2023. The Mumbai batter also went on to be India’s top-scorer in the World Test Championship 2023-25 cycle with a tally of 1798 runs from 19 matches averaging 52.88.
Jaiswal made his IPL debut with Rajasthan Royals in 2020 and is currently the Royals’ top-scorer in IPL 2025 aggregating 473 runs - with five fifties - from 12 matches.
