Manchester United are actively planning summer moves for Sunderland Jobe Bellingham and Chris Rigg, with both players valued around £30 million each. Head of recruitment Christopher Vivell is reportedly very impressed with Bellingham, while United have also approached Rigg camp. However, the 17-year-old will decide after Sunderland Championship playoff campaign concludes.
With the summer transfer window approaching, Manchester United are reportedly ready to activate their transfer plans to sign two highly-rated Championship prospects from Sunderland – Jobe Bellingham and Chris Rigg – for a combined fee of around £60 million. According to reports from UtdDistrict, Bellingham remains a top target at Old Trafford, with United’s head of recruitment Christopher Vivell said to be “very high” on the 19-year-old midfielder.
Bellingham has impressed United’s scouts and is viewed as a creative talent capable of contributing from deeper positions in midfield. The Red Devils, currently struggling in the Premier League and sitting 14th after a 1-0 home defeat to Wolves, are looking to refresh their squad under Ruben Amorim’s guidance. Despite their league woes, United still have a chance to qualify for the Champions League through the Europa League, which could significantly boost their summer recruitment plans.
Alongside Bellingham, 17-year-old Chris Rigg is also on United’s radar. A proposal has reportedly been made to Rigg’s camp, although the player is not expected to make a decision until Sunderland’s season concludes. The club is currently chasing promotion to the Premier League via the Championship play-offs, adding further intrigue to these potential deals.
