Marcus Rashford has rejected a £35 million offer from a Saudi club as he eyes a move to Barcelona. Despite not fitting into manager Ruben Amorim’s plans at Manchester United, Rashford is keen to leave this summer. After a brief loan at Aston Villa, he remains focused on joining the La Liga champions before the deadline.
After the end of his loan spell at Aston Villa, Marcus Rashford has rejected a £35 million transfer offer from a Saudi club, despite being ready to leave Manchester United this summer. The 27-year-old forward, who has made over 400 appearances for United, is no longer in manager Ruben Amorim’s plans. Amorim was reportedly unhappy with Rashford’s training commitment last season and approved his loan to Villa in January.
While a permanent move to Aston Villa was initially on the table, Rashford has made it clear he prefers a switch to Barcelona. The Spanish giants are still interested in signing a winger after missing out on Nico Williams, who signed a new 10-year deal with Athletic Bilbao. Rashford has also turned down a big-money contract from Saudi Arabia worth €40 million (£35 million), holding out for a move to La Liga.
Juventus has also shown interest, but Rashford remains focused on joining Barcelona, his dream club. There’s a slim possibility he could stay at Manchester United if relations with Amorim improve. Former United star Juan Mata expressed hope that Rashford can still succeed at Old Trafford, calling him a “wonderkid” who could bring value to the club if he finds happiness again.
