A resolution is expected before Forest depart for their pre-season tour in Portugal.
As the summer transfer window heats up, Tottenham Hotspur's pursuit of Morgan Gibbs-White has taken a fresh twist. The Nottingham Forest midfielder is at the heart of an ongoing saga after Spurs triggered his £60 million release clause last week. However, Forest were reportedly upset as Tottenham did not receive formal permission to speak with the player, leading to the deal being paused.
Despite the uncertainty, Gibbs-White has remained fully professional. He featured in Forest’s pre-season friendly against Monaco, which ended in a goalless draw, and continues to train and stay match-fit. His teammate Ola Aina, speaking to Sky Sports, confirmed the midfielder is handling the situation with maturity, stating, “He’s keeping it professional... we’ve got a job to do and that’s what Morgan is doing right now.”
It is understood that Gibbs-White is eager to complete the move to North London before Forest’s pre-season training camp in Portugal. Meanwhile, Forest seem determined to retain their key player, having named him in their lineup and planned for his involvement in upcoming friendlies against Fulham and Estoril. With multiple matches scheduled before the new Premier League season begins, the next few days will be crucial in determining whether Gibbs-White makes the switch to Spurs.
