When the 2024/25 football season ended in disappointment for Manchester United, the club began taking aggressive steps to rebuild. Despite reaching the Europa League final under manager Ruben Amorim, United finished a shocking 15th in the Premier League. To turn things around, INEOS and Sir Jim Ratcliffe are backing Amorim in the summer transfer market.

The club has already signed Matheus Cunha from Wolves and is preparing a new offer for Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo. Additionally, United have expressed interest in signing AS Roma’s central defender Evan Ndicka, reportedly valued at £34 million, and are pursuing Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres. However, Gyokeres is said to have rejected a £29 million bid. In goal, Andre Onana’s underwhelming performances have prompted United to consider replacements.

Meanwhile, England manager Thomas Tuchel—preparing for a friendly against Senegal—shared his thoughts on the upcoming 2025/26 Premier League season. He believes Liverpool and Arsenal will benefit from not playing in the Club World Cup, giving them a “huge advantage” over Chelsea and Manchester City, who will participate in the tournament. Tuchel, formerly of Chelsea, sees this as a crucial factor in the title race, with Liverpool entering the season as strong favourites.
