Erling Haaland admits Manchester City's 2024-25 campaign has been difficult, marked by a Champions League Round of 16 exit and a current fourth-place league position. Ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup final against Crystal Palace, Haaland hopes to end the season with silverware, calling it vital to maintain the club’s winning standards after missing seven games through injury.
For the team at Manchester City, the 2024–25 season has been one of the toughest in recent memory, with star striker Erling Haaland openly acknowledging the struggles. Despite winning the Premier League four years in a row and completing a historic treble in 2022–23, City currently sit fourth in the league with two games remaining and have been knocked out of the UEFA Champions League before the Round of 16.
Haaland, who missed seven matches due to an ankle injury, emphasized the importance of finishing the campaign strong as City prepare to face Crystal Palace in the FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium this Saturday. He described the season as “boring and not fun” due to the high number of losses but remains hopeful of lifting silverware.
The Norwegian striker highlighted that winning trophies is a habit City must preserve and pointed to the FA Cup as a key opportunity. He praised Crystal Palace’s form, recalling a 2-2 draw in December and a hard-fought 5-2 City win last month. Haaland also underlined the high standards at the club, saying that falling short of a fifth consecutive league title makes the season unsuccessful by their expectations.
