‌RCB vs GT | Twitter reacts to Siraj’ silencing RCB chants by knocking off Salt’s stumps following gigantic six

Momentum is often closely associated with cricket as the players and staff often emphasize its importance. Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj seemed to be in rhythm to change the momentum of the game between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and the Gujarat Titans by silencing the home crowd.

Winning the coin-flip and deciding to field first helped the Titans pacers to capitalise on the early moisture. Arshad Khan and Mohammed Siraj struck early with the new ball, removing Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikall halfway through the powerplay.  Even Phil Salt seemed to be struggling against the pacers before breaking the shackles with a gigantic six off Siraj.

On the third ball of the fifth over, Salt danced down the ground on a pace-on delivery and smashed him across the line for a gargantuan six. The intensity of the stroke was so good that the white cork thudded the top tier of the Chinnaswamy Stadium over deep mid wicket. However, this was just a small spark before Salt’s innings extinguished, courtesy of a length ball from Siraj that knocked the off stump. The wicketkeeper-batter tried to slog across the line after shimmying down the ground once again but missed a connection horribly, prompting a Twitterverse frenzy.

If there could be an eighth wonder of the world corresponding to the cricket world, Virat Kohli’s cover drive would surely be a worthy nomination. The Indian stalwart executed a lovely cover drive against his former teammate and close mate Mohammed Siraj, who was a part of his opposition team.
