ENG vs IND | Twitter on the edge as Karun shaken after trying in vain to evade Carse bouncer

‌Pacers always use bouncers as a psychological weapon to invoke fear among batters and Brydon Carse created mayhem during the second India vs England Test in Birmingham. Carse’s quick bouncer caught Karun Nair in an awkward position as the batter was visibly shaken after trying in vain to evade it.

India, after being sent on a leather hunt by England batters Harry Brook and Jamie Smith, bounced back on the third day to end with an overall lead of 244 runs and nine wickets in hand at Edgbaston in Birmingham. With KL Rahul and Karun Nair looking to extend India’s advantage on the fourth morning, pacer Brydon Carse resorted to short-ball tactics against Karun Nair.

The England pacer was, however, causing trouble to the former Karnataka batter unlike Prasidh Krishna, who got hammered all over the park trying to bounce Brook and Smith in the first session the previous day. Carse steamed in from his run-up and let a ripper in full flow off the fourth ball of the 17th over with Karun going for evasive action.

But the ball followed the Indian batter as it thudded into his helmet visor with physios rushing in to attend to the batter. He was visibly shaken as the concussion protocols were being carried out but he calmed his nerves with a calm smile.

But Carse had already got into the mind of the batter as Karun edged the next ball as it flew past the slip cordon for a boundary. The pacer finally got his man four overs later as a fuller delivery outside off stump caught Karun as he went for a drive with wicketkeeper Smith completing the proceedings. Twitter was on the edge initially before being impressed by Carse’s tactics to dismiss Karun.

Ouch!

Easy for him there!

LOL! He is not doing it for him here!

Sai also didn't perform!

Bad phase!

Hard luck!

He is not delivering it when it matters!

Oh!

True that!

Was not knowing about that!
