While batting first after winning the toss, Central Districts posted a good total of 171/7 in the allotted 20 overs. Star middle-order batter Dean Foxcroft scored 47 runs off 33 balls, with five fours and two sixes, following Will Young’s 35 runs off 26 balls and Dane Cleaver’s 28 runs off just 19 balls. Dominic Drakes and Kaleem Sana scalped two wickets each for Dubai Capitals in the first innings, alongside a wicket picked by Kadeem Alleyne.

While chasing the target, the Capitals fell six runs short of the target, getting restricted to the score of 166/9 in the entire 20 overs. Rovman Powell scored 36 runs off 22 balls, alongside Syed Haider’s 33 runs off 24 balls. Besides these two, opener Sediqullah Atal also contributed with 26 runs off 18 balls, with two fours and as many sixes. However, these knocks went in vain as they couldn’t chase the target in due time. Ajaz Patel scalped three wickets for the Districts, alongside two wickets each bagged by Blair Tickner and Angus Shaw.

The Districts’ middle-order batter Dean Foxcroft won the ‘Player of the Match’ award for his outstanding match-winning knock.
