‌India Women took an unassailable 3-1 lead in the five-match T20I series against England Women with a six-wicket win in the fourth T20I at Old Trafford in Manchester on Thursday. The left-arm spin duo of Radha Yadav and Shree Charani picked up two wickets each to restrict England to a modest score before the batters completed an easy chase.

Opting to bat first, England Women were dealt the initial blow with Charani sending back opener Dani Wyatt-Hodge in her first over. Soon, off-spinner Deepti Sharma also struck as the hosts ended the powerplay at 38/2. Though skipper Tammy Beaumont (20) and Alice Capsey steadied the ship with a 35-run partnership, the home side slipped from 68/2 to 101/7. Radha’s impressive spell of 2/15 in four overs kept England on a tight leash as they finished at a below-par total of 126/7 in 20 overs. Opener Sophia Dunkley top-scored for the hosts with 22 off 19 balls, while Sophie Ecclestone’s 10-ball 16 ensured that they had something to play with. For India, Charani also ended with two wickets while Amanjot Kaur and Deepti picked up a wicket apiece.

The Indian opening duo of Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Varma made light work of the chase with a 56-run partnership in seven overs. Shafali smashed six fours in her 19-ball 31 while Smriti played the anchor role with her 31-ball 32. Though the hosts dismissed Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur (26) and Amanjot in the space of a ball, it was too late as Jemimah (24*) took the side to the 127-run mark with three overs to spare. Unsurprisingly, Radha was declared the Player of the Match for her miserly spell.
