Yoane Wissa has exited Brentford’s pre-season camp in Portugal to discuss his future with club officials. The 28-year-old, who scored 19 Premier League goals last season, is attracting strong interest from Newcastle, Tottenham, and Nottingham Forest. With just a year left on his contract, Brentford may consider selling him for around £40 million this summer.

During the pre-season, Brentford forward Yoane Wissa has left the club’s training camp in Portugal and returned to London, signalling uncertainty over his future. The 28-year-old DR Congo international is set to hold talks with Brentford director of football Phil Giles as interest mounts from Premier League rivals Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur, and Nottingham Forest. All three clubs are in European competitions next season, making them attractive destinations.

Wissa, who has one year left on his contract (with an option for a further year), reportedly prefers a move away despite Brentford’s efforts to extend his deal. Wissa has been unsettled by the transfer speculation and could rejoin the team when they return to London as if he remains at the club. The situation is delicate, especially after Brentford already lost key attacker Bryan Mbeumo to Manchester United in a £65m deal.

Wissa, turning 29 in September, could fetch a fee of around £40m. Having scored 49 goals in 149 appearances since joining from Lorient in 2021, including 19 in 35 Premier League games last season as his departure would be a significant loss. Brentford face Gil Vicente on 25 July in their first pre-season match, but Wissa's involvement now looks unlikely.
