Juventus Slip Keeps Champions League Race Alive in Serie A

Juventus’ 1-1 draw with Bologna has intensified the race for Serie A's final Champions League spots. With three games left, Juve, Roma, and Lazio sit tied on 63 points, while Bologna trail by one. Despite an early goal from Khephren Thuram, Juventus missed chances and lost Andrea Cambiaso to injury, allowing Bologna to equalise.

After being the early pacesetters in a crucial clash against Bologna, Juventus failed to hold their advantage and settled for a 1-1 draw, leaving the Serie A race for Champions League qualification wide open. Khephren Thuram gave Juve the lead in the 9th minute with a powerful long-range strike, but despite dominating early play and creating several chances—many through the lively Andrea Cambiaso—they couldn’t capitalise further.

Injuries heavily affected Igor Tudor’s side, with several key players like Bremer, Gatti, Vlahovic, and Koopmeiners unavailable, forcing a makeshift defense led by Nicoló Savona. Cambiaso’s eventual injury compounded Juve’s woes, especially as he had been instrumental before limping off. Bologna equalised through a Remo Freuler strike that deflected off Renato Veiga, denying Juventus all three points.

Now, with just three games remaining, Juve sit fourth on 63 points, level with Roma and Lazio, while Bologna are just one point behind. Atalanta remain five points clear in third. With upcoming fixtures against Lazio, Udinese, and Venezia, Tudor remains confident but cautious, noting that each remaining game carries huge stakes in a tightly packed table.
