ENG vs IND, WATCH | Ravi Shastri slams umpires over ball-change

The ball-changing incidents have been a huge topic of discussion in the ongoing third Test between India and England, which is taking place at Lord's Cricket Stadium, and has frustrated both players and commentators. Ravi Shastri has also joined that group of experts cricticising the officials.
It was day three of the Lord's Test match between India and England, where the Indian team had dominated the first session ahead of Lunch with an incredible partnership between Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul. However, the visitors will still be frustrated after the run-out of Rishabh Pant at the stroke of Lunch. However, there was another event that not only frustrated the players but also the commentators as well.
It was time for drinks after 56 overs were complete in the Indian innings, and when it was time to play, the fourth umpire came with his box as the officials decided to change the ball. This wasted a lot of time in the game, and not only frustrated the players but also on-air commentators Ian Ward and Ravi Shastri as well, who cricticised the officials for not deciding to change the ball at the start of the drinks break.
“ They have decided to change the ball again, it's quite frankly ridiculous because if they've decided to change the ball, why was that not decided at the start of the drinks break? We waited for the entirety of the drinks break, they should be playing again now, and now the umpires have decided to change it and go through the procedure,” Ian Ward said during commentary.
Shastri agreed with Ward's statement as the balls were being checked through the ring while the players were still waiting for the game to start.
“I couldn't agree more. I mean, it's just common sense what you're saying. It's basic. It's hard to explain, really hard to explain. It's cases where they forget to check the ball because you know what's what's quite amazing, there is that they checked 5 balls and 5 of them didn't go through the ring. So why are they in the box in the first place?", Shastri in agreement with Ward.
And the debate continues!
