West Indies vs Australia fourth T20I preview

West Indies and Australia will be battling each other again in the fourth T20I on July 27 at Warner Park in Basseterre. While Australia will be looking to keep its winning streak alive, the Windies will look to end the five-match series on a high after losing the first three games.

‌The fourth game of the T20I series between West Indies and Australia is set to take place at Warner Park in Basseterre, St. Kitts and Nevis. Australia have already won the series and will go into this game with a 3-0 lead. West Indies, on the other hand, will be looking to recover from the tough losses they suffered in the last three games. Though there is no chance of a series win for the Windies, they will be looking to restore their upper hand at home after the last three results brought the equation to 6-6 in the 12 games the two sides have faced each other in the Caribbean.

The last game saw an excellent batting performance from the hosts, as they put up a huge total of 214 on the board on the back of a brilliant century from skipper Shai Hope. However, their hopes of keeping the series alive were dismissed by Tim David, who scored his maiden T20I hundred off just 37 deliveries. This was also the fastest century by an Aussie batter in T20Is. The home team will be carrying the scars of David's knock as they turn up at the same venue in a day's time in search of a first win.

Form Guide

The West Indies are having a poor run in the shortest format of the game, where they have only won one game in the last five matches they have played and have lost three in a row after their recent disappointing performances against the visitors.

Australia has enjoyed a five-game unbeaten streak and will be looking to continue their great performances going into the last two games of the series.

Pitch and Weather

The surface at Warner Park in Basseterre has been slightly on the flatter side, where the batters have enjoyed scoring runs. Though there might be a bit of grip in the initial stages of the game, there is some dew in the second innings, which helps the team batting second a lot. This is also the reason why the team chasing has won nine of the 13 T20I games that have been played at this venue.

The Conditions at St. Kitts and Nevis will be cloudy, and there might be slight chances of rain, which could affect the game a bit.

Team News

The West Indies might make changes in the bowling department, considering how many runs they leaked in the last game.  There is a chance that Alzarri Joseph might come in place of left-arm spinner Gudakesh Motie, and Jediah Blades could make way for Matthew Forde in the lineup

Australia, on the other hand, has been in top form and is expected to remain unchanged for the upcoming fixture.

West Indies Probable XI: Brandon King, Shai Hope (c) (wk), Shimron Hetmyer, Roston Chase, Rovman Powell, Sherfane Rutherford, Jason Holder, Romario Shepherd, Alzarri Joseph, Akeal Hosein, Matthew Forde.

Australia Probable XI: Mitchell Marsh (c), Glenn Maxwell, Josh Inglis, Cameron Green, Tim David, Mitchell Owen, Cooper Connolly, Ben Dwarshuis, Sean Abbott, Nathan Ellis, Adam Zampa.
